The exhibition of the photographer Peter Hetzmannseder tells tales of the world on the waterfront. The Danube Canal, once called the "Viennese Arm," offers an interplay of old and new, of idyll and seclusion, but also of parties and anarchy. The poetic black-and-white photographs capture Gründerzeit architecture next to graffiti-covered bridges and chic restaurants. They show young people celebrating, old people counting time, but also punks and tramps under the bridge. The "world on the waterfront" offers "an interplay of old and new, of idyll and seclusion...," it becomes "a polyphonic parable of today's society.”
