For her project Last Paradise, Ekaterina Sevrouk repeatedly visited the Haus der Natur in Salzburg and had free access to the so-called "dead zoo," how many museums lovingly call their taxidermy collection. Due to the progressive climate change and other circumstances, new specimens of extinct animals are continuously added to the collection. The photographer visualizes in a very personal way the ambivalence between preservation and redesign in the stuffed animals and the ongoing extermination of the animal world. She arranges and stages her motifs with great attention to detail. Through the use of partly very strong colours she enhances the impact in a trendy and extravagant way. With her Leica S, she has succeeded in bringing all details vividly to life.
