The staged series Eat Me is based on the real story of the “Cannibal of Rotenburg”: One man mutilated, killed and consumed another – with the consent of the victim. Fodor uses this tale as starting point and elaborates on it, adding new nuances, such as the endless greed to devour everything: in capitalism, in professional and private relationships. Despite its shock effect, Eat me subtly evades the usual interconnection of image and world and conveys the experience of Virilio’s “disappearance.”

The actor Christoph Dostal and the hurdy-gurdy virtuoso and composer Matthias Loibner present the photo novel in the style of ballad singers, who showed pictures and recited verses. The story is charged with a socio-political “bigger story”. After the live act, Eat Me will be shown in the form of projections and murals to the soundtrack of the opening event.
