In their concepts developed for the exhibition Urbane (De)kodierungen (Urban De-Codings), the siblings Claudia Dorninger-Lehner and Julia Dorninger operate at the interface between art and architecture. They explore the connections between the perception of public space and its structures, relations and possibilities.

In her project Was bleibt (What Remains) Claudia Dorninger-Lehner condenses about 100 individual snapshots, produced along a linear path, into a single image. She thus questions the extent to which subjective memory is embedded in objective perception and in the context of time.

In her project Narratives of urban space, Julia Dorninger examines the ongoing transformation of space through human action. The artist analyses how space can be restructured through social processes and various forms of appropriation.
