The exhibition shows photographic works that at first glance are not readily recognizable as photographs and thus open up questions regarding “image production” – the abundance of photographs that reach us daily means that they are consumed rather than reflected upon.

On view are positions by artists whose works deal with post-photographic practices. The photographic works of Christiane Peschek and Klaus Pamminger, for instance, spread out into the space as installations. Bastian Schwind first draws his architectures and landscapes with typewritten words – he takes “photographs” with the typewriter – and then captures these images with the camera. The works of Jonas Feferle introduce the reverse phenomenon into the exhibition: His aluminium objects, testimony to an acute preoccupation with space, material and form, create the impression of a photographic pictorial space.

Exhibition run: 07.03. – 09.05.2019
